Search for new local charity partner for 2017/18 launched by Sainsbury’s High Wycombe

| May 19, 2017

Sainsbury’s Local Charity of the Year scheme is back for the ninth year and the High Wycombe store is calling for local charity nominations to be its flagship local charity for 2017/18.

At the end of May 2017 the store will shortlist three of the nominated charities to be put forward to a vote by customers to become the stores chosen charity.

The winning charity will then receive a year of support from the store, which includes fund raising and awareness raising. The customers vote will take place in stores and online between Monday 12th June 2017 to Sunday 25th June 2017.

Over £13 million has been raised, helping thousands of charities across the UK, since the launch of the Sainsbury’s Local Charity of the Year scheme in 2009.

Jason Merrett, Store Manager at Sainsbury’s High Wycombe, said: ‘There are so many fantastic charities in the local area which do brilliant work in our community. We’ve had a great year working in partnerships with RobsArttt and we’re excited to be offering a new charity the chance to receive support from our customers and colleagues.

The scheme is open to any UK registered charity, so anyone who works for a charity, or would like to encourage a local charity to apply can collect a form from the store. Nominations close on Sunday 28th May 2017 with the shortlisted charities announced in June 2017.
