Armed robbers strike at a supermarket in Stokenchurch

An armed robbery took place at a supermarket in Stokenchurch on Thursday 13th September 2018.

Two people entered the Tesco Express store in George Road, Stokenchurch at around 9.15pm and demanded money. One of the offenders had a bladed article and struck one of the cashiers, a man in his forties, who sustained a laceration to his head.

Police believe that both the robbers were men and both were wearing dark clothing and had their faces covered. They left the area in a car which was a purple Ford Fiesta with the vehicle registration starting R304.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Daniel Thompson of the Force CID at High Wycombe, said: ‘We are thoroughly investigating this incident and two arrests have been made.

We take incidents of this nature very seriously and we would like anyone with information about this to come forward to us.

We would especially like to speak to anyone who may have seen the vehicle described before or after the incident.

Herfordshire Constabulary have arrested two women in Watford in connection with the incident. A 22 year old woman from London was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery and a 25 year old woman from Borehamwood was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They have both been released under investigation.
