Environmentally friendly LED lighting to be installed at five railway stations operated by Chiltern Railways
New energy efficient LED lighting is to be installed at five railway stations operated by Chiltern Railways.
From Monday 8th October 2018 the existing lighting will be replaced with new energy efficient LED lights at the following stations :
- Aylesbury Vale Parkway
- Aylesbury
- Stoke Mandeville
- Wendover
- Great Missenden
As a result of the work a small number of car parking spaces at the stations will not be in use.
Not only will the new lights be modern and environmentally friendly but LED lighting has the following benefits :
- It has a long-life span and costs less to maintain.
- It’s energy efficient. Leading to a significant reduction in energy consumption.
- It’s environmentally safe.
- The new lighting quality will improve visibility and meet industry safety LUX levels.
