Construction starts on DesBox project in Baker Street, High Wycombe

Construction has started on the DesBox project in Baker Street, High Wycombe.

Built on the site of the former Baker Street Car park, DesBox is a three storey development which will provide studios for local artists. The building will also contain a cafe on the ground floor as well as storage rooms of varying sizes on each floor.

The building is being constructed from 135 recycled shipping containers. Wycombe District Council commissioned specialist design company, Container City, to design and construct the complex.

It is expected that the building will remain in place for at least 20 years.

DesBox is part of the Baker Street regeneration project which recently saw a new Aldi supermarket open on the opposite side of the road.
