Petitions trigger community governance reviews in Sands and unparished area of High Wycombe
Community governance reviews are to take place in Sands and the unparished area of High Wycombe following the submission of petitions to Wycombe District Council.
Two petitions calling for community governance reviews with a view to forming town or parish councils were handed in at a full council meeting of Wycombe District Council on Thursday 21st February 2019.
The number of petitioners has since been validated and Wycombe District Council has confirmed the number of validated signatures has reached the number required to trigger a community governance review. The reviews will need to be completed within 12 months.
One petitions calls for a review to consider whether to form a parish council in the ward of Sand while the other is for a review to consider whether there should be a town council for the unparished area of High Wycombe.
The submission of the petitions follows the submission of two other petitions on Monday 10th December 2018 which triggered a community governance review in the wards of Totteridge and Micklefield.
On Monday 18th March 2019 a report enabling Wycombe District Council to set out the terms of reference for the reviews will be presented to the Regulatory and Appeals Committee of Wycombe District Council and the full Council on Monday 1st April 2019 in relation to all the validated petitions.
