Police searching for a man missing from Chalfont St Peter have located a body in woodland at Gerrards Cross.
The body was found on Sunday 30th June 2019 in woodland near to the A40 in Gerrards Cross. It was found by police officers as part of the ongoing search for Roy Morris, who had been reported missing from his home in Chalfont St Peter since Sunday 26th May 2019.
Although formal identification has not yet taken place, police believe the body to be that of Mr Morris and his next of kin have been notified and are being supported by officers at this time. Police are treated the death as unexplained, but not suspicious.
Detective Sergeant Simon Reid, based at Amersham police station, said: ‘Our officers along with colleagues from the Lowland Search & Rescue, have been conducting searches for Mr Morris for several weeks since he was reported missing.
Sadly, that search has discovered the body of a man yesterday [Sunday 30th June 2019] afternoon, which is believed to be Mr Morris.
Officers from Thames Valley Police are with Mr Morris’s family and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.‘
