Man injured during assault in Berkley Avenue, Chesham

A man was injured during an assault in Berkley Avenue, Chesham on Saturday 16th November 2019.

Five men knocked on the door of an address in Berkley Avenue, Chesham sometime between 11.00pm and 11.30pm. A man in his thirties answered the door, once the door was open several men rushed in an assaulted the man. The man in his thirties was taken to hospital following the incident however his injuries are not life threatening.

The men who carried out the assault were all wearing dark clothing, with their faces covered. Police believe that some of the men may have been carrying weapons.

Investigating Officer Detective Sergeant Andrew Melton of Force CID based at Aylesbury Police Station, said: ‘At this stage we believe that this was an isolated and targeted incident and we do not believe there is a wider danger to the public.

We are asking anyone who may have seen five men or any vehicles acting suspiciously in and around Berkley Avenue between 11pm and 11.30pm to please come forward.

Additionally we would ask anyone who may have home CCTV to check their footage to see if it shows the offenders and get in touch.

Members of the public may see an increased police presence whilst we continue to investigate, anyone with any concerns should speak to one our officers.
