Man arrested on M40 at Beaconsfield in connection with deaths of 39 people found in a lorry in Essex
A man has been arrested on the M40 at Beaconsfield in connection with a police investigation into the deaths of 39 Vietnamese nationals discovered in a lorry trailer at Grays, Essex.
The 23 year old man from Northern Ireland was arrested in the early hours of Friday 22nd November 2019 by officers from Thames Valley Police on behalf of Essex Police.
The man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to traffic people and conspiracy to assist unlawful immigration and remains in custody.
The people who died were eight women and 31 men. Ten of them were teenagers, including two 15 year old boys.
