Planning application submitted for the repair, refurbishment and extension of the Brunel Engine Shed in High Wycombe
A planning application has been submitted for the repair, refurbishment and extension of the Brunel Engine Shed in High Wycombe.
The Grade II listed building in Amersham Hill, High Wycombe has been vacant since 2014 when alterations to the general area of the railway station forecourt resulted in the demolition of a more recent addition to the original structure of the Brunel Shed and a mural was painted on the side facing the Amersham Hill.
Following a public consultation, a formal planning application has been submitted for the repair, refurbishment and extension of the Brunel Engine Shed in High Wycombe. The planning application can be viewed on the Wycombe District Council ‘Public Access‘ planning website using reference 20/05133/FUL.
If the planning application is successful the building will brought back into a sustainable use, while the extension to the building will provide additional modernised floor space for possible commercial uses.
The description of the planing application is as follows: ‘The refurbishment and change of use to the former Brunel Engine Shed to flexible B1(a) and / or A1 and / or A3 use together with an extension and associated works.‘
The plans aim to create a car free development through the provision of fourteen cycle parking spaces to encourage use of sustainable modes of transport.
