An appeal for witnesses has been launched by Thames Valley Police after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Clay Lane, Booker.

On Tuesday 15th September 2020, at approximately 2.30pm, a male pedestrian was in Clay Lane at the junction with Clay Hill when a vehicle, described as a silver Hyundai, struck the victim.

The pesestrian, a man aged in his thirties, suffered a head injury and facial fractures and was taken to hospital for treatment however he has since been discharged.

The driver of the vehicle is described as a young Asian man and the vehicle then left the scene with a cracked windscreen.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Alex Trevivian, based at High Wycombe police station, said: ‘We are currently treating this as an incident of grievous bodily harm, as our early investigations suggest that the man was struck deliberately by the vehicle.

One of our lines of enquiry is that this may have been an incident of ‘road rage’.

We believe that there was an incident just before which involved two vehicles, resulting in both stopping and an altercation ensuing.

Thankfully, the victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, but this could have been much worse.

I am appealing to anybody who was in the area yesterday at around 2.30pm who believes that they witnessed this incident to please contact police. The car left the scene and I am keen to hear from anyone who saw a vehicle matching the description, with a cracked windscreen to get in touch.

I’m particularly keen to hear from anybody who may have dash-cam in their vehicles to please check this and contact us if it has captured anything significant.
