All new High Wycombe Model Railway Exhibition on Saturday 22nd April 2023
The High Wycombe and District Model Railway Society is bringing back the Society’s Wycrail exhibition experience to a new ‘small and friendly’ venue.
The new exhibition experience will build on the success of the Society’s Clubroom Open Days – popular with locals and experienced modellers alike.
Wycombe MRX23 will feature 12 high quality and inspirational model railway layouts, in a wide range of familiar scales and gauges including N, 00 and narrow gauges.
Full trade support will be present ranging from tools, kits, ready to run models, books and the Society is pleased to be working with sponsors, The Transport Treasury.
The Society’s junior section layout ‘Mothecombe’ (00) will be on display showing its continued excellent progress and confirming that the hobby is alive and well with our younger members!
This new format show opens between 10.30am and 4.30pm and is being held at Cressex Community Centre & Social Club, 203 Cressex Road, High Wycombe, HP12 4PZ.
Admission is £4.50; Children 6-16: £1.00 and under sixes are free.
The High Wycombe and District Model Railway Society was formed in the 1971. It has progressed to become one of the leading Model Railway clubs in the South East of England with a wide membership including ages ranging from 8 to 80.
The Society has its own clubrooms rooms, that are open to members seven days a week right in the centre of High Wycombe with a view of the railway station.
Layouts along with member’s interest vary and the Society has a strong North American Section along with traditional British outline interests. The Society currently has multiple layouts, built or under construction in scales: 0, 00/H0 and N. These layouts are continually being upgraded and operated by members and guests on the official club nights; Monday and Wednesday evening or the daytime opening on Thursdays between 10.00am and 2.00pm. A number of the Society’s layouts are regularly seen at a variety of exhibitions up and down the country.
Further information on the Society can be found at the Society website at www.hwdmrs.org.uk.
