Man’s face slashed with knife during assault in High Wycombe

A man required hospital treatment following an assault in High Wycombe on Thursday 24th January 2019.

At around 7.00am, a 40 year old man was in Bowerdean Road when he was approached by an unknown man who asked him for money. When the 40 year old man declined to give any money, he was kicked in the back of his leg by the other man who then produced a weapon, believed to be a small knife, and cut the face of the 40 year old man before running off.

The 40 year old man sustained cuts to his face and was treated at High Wycombe minor injuries unit. He has since been discharged.

The offender is described as a tall, white man, with dark hair, a beard and of slim build. He was wearing a hat, glasses, a hooded top and tracksuit bottoms.

Investigating officer, PC Mark Palethorpe based at High Wycombe police station said: ‘This was an unprovoked attack on the victim which was undoubtedly extremely frightening.

Police have arrested a man from High Wycombe on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. He has since been released on bail until Monday 18th February 2019.
