All my life I have had the pleasure of residing in the wonderful town of High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire. Indeed my ancestors have resided in Wycombe and the surrounding area for several centuries.

During my lifetime there have been many changes take place in our town. At the present time the town is changing faster than ever before however I feel that not all the changes are for the better.

I would like to share my experience of life in Wycombe with you through this blog to hopefully raise awareness of the problems the residents face in their daily lives.

The past seven days have been very busy for me. The Bank Holiday we enjoyed just over eight days ago seems but a distant memory. I guess one should be thankful that full employment keeps your humble servant busy but sometimes I fear it’s possible to be too busy. To make matters worse in the […]

The modern world in which we live is always full of surprises. From portable phones with internet connections to pocket sized music players quite honestly it amazes me what the boffins in the labs will come up with next. Most of the recent developments in technology have been in the fields of communication and entertainment […]

There is nothing I like more than my regular lunchtime walk around Wycombe town centre. When it’s time for lunch I’m out the door like a flash and making my way to bench somewhere quiet to eat my sandwiches. Of course on the way yours truly says hello to the regular faces who have come […]

I can remember when Wycombe was a nice town full of small shops each selling the essentials for daily life. Desborough Road was a shopping community all of its own supporting the families who lived close by in Brook Street, Richardson Street and Green Street. Just look at the Desborough Road area now. Takeaways, fast […]
